Lightening in the sky

I woke up very early this morning, couldn’t get back to sleep. I noticed there was the odd flash of light coming through the closed curtains, and thought, there’s a bit of a light show on outside.. It happens from time to time here in Malaysia, where there is a lightening show in the sky, no sound, but just a show of lights. It’s fairly impressive the first time you see it. However I’ve yet to capture any of it on camera. So I got up and decided to ‘have a go’.. Results below..

It wasn’t exactly how I wanted it to turn out – with the human eye you can see the clouds surrounding the bolt light up very impressively, but I’ve yet to figure out how to capture that on Camera. I was doing long exposures and after 3 1minute exposures this turned out to be the best. The sky originally was a very orange colour, but with no real definition, so in Lightroom, I changed the white balance to tungsten and it looked so much nicer.
