I wonder who else began watching Lost all those years ago, and at first thought ‘Wow, this is ace!’, then later it started to get weirder, and weirder and even weirder. I watched Season One, then later Season Two, hoping to find answers to all those questions raised in the first season – but instead found ourselves being bombarded with even more questions, and as the season dragged on, found myself starting to get very bored.

By the time season Three came about I started to think the writers had completely Lost the Plot over Lost. I bet I wasn’t alone there. I mean, if anyone found Battlestar Galactica a bit weird from time to time, this was a complete mind f*** compared to that! If Battlestar’s weirdness was 8 on a scale of 1 to 10, then Lost smashed that scale and set it to 100. Now I’m starting to wonder if I’m losing the plot writing this post.. No, No, Let’s get back on track…

Today I watched an ABC Special, Called Lost – The story so far.. It was 5 seasons of Lost condensed into 45 minutes. Which is totally cool with me, that way I can find out what happened without watching hundreds of hours of mind numbing, totally freaky television. So, what did I learn watching 5 seasons of Lost in 45 minutes.. Well, to summarize, at the end of the show.. I said one word (or three – depending on how you look at it).. I said.. “WTF!!!!!”

OK, Here goes.. Time Travel, 2007, 1977, the 1950′s.. Island Teleporting itself through time and space (The whole Island is like a massive Hiro Nakamura), with a turn of wheel. Nuclear bombs going off, People coming and going from the Island, Dead people coming back alive, and then finding out they aren’t who they are appear to be. Half a plane crashing in 2007 and the other half in 1977.. Do I need to go on.. I reckon I’ve not covered 5% of all the cr*p that went on! OMG… Anyway.. I am interested in ‘what happens next’, but I can easily wait for Season 6, it’s final season, to finish and then read about it on Wikipedia.

All in all, if at one point you were ‘into’ Lost, but like me lost intrest, then I would recommend watching this ‘condensed’ version, if nothing else but to see how totally lost the plot really did get. And then if you decide to watch season 6, well, then you’re probably going to be in for another 18 episodes of questions – with maybe half an hour of answers at the end hehe.

Today I saw an article on the BBC News website about some of the movies upcoming this year. I saw it mention a couple of movies I was definitely interested in. I decided to do some further research, and using Wikipedia, discovered all the upcoming movies for 2010 and went through them, picking out my TOP 10 for 2010. This list could (and probably would) change over the coming months as I see other movies that could also perk my interest.

So my Top 10 for 2010 (in release date order) are:

Daybreakers – 6th January

Wall Street 2 – 23rd April

Nightmare on Elm Street – 30th April

Iron Man 2 – 7th May

Robin Hood – 14th May

The A-Team – 11th June

Little Fockers – 30th June

Twilight Eclipse – 30th June

Inception – 16th July

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 – 19th Nov

Release dates are subject to change of course. A couple of movies that didn’t make the top 10 but are notable releases are Shrek 4 and The Expendables.

Today I went tried to see 2012. This is one of those movies I’ve been anticipating for over half a year. I tried to book a ticket on the Golden Screen Cinema website, but due to very heavy traffic, their online ticketing system is broke, again (It happened when Transformers 2 came out). I contemplated seeing it on Thursday, but the show times at the nearby cinema wasn’t suitable for me.

Today I went to Pavillion KL, as I know they have a fully digital screen for the big movies. When I arrived, I saw the queue – or more likely the ‘crowd’, it was epic.. Oh my god!! Now, people that know me, know I detest a couple of things, Traffic congestion and queues, and this was one almighty queue. Fair enough, I thought, I’ll try to bypass the queue and go to the Gold Class section – Yes, I know it’ll cost more, but it’s better seats, more comfort and most importantly, no queues. I asked about the digital screen and was told that it’s not being shown on the digital screen – WTF!! Do these people have no clue at all? OK ok, so what shows do you have available.. 12pm – no, 1pm – no, 2.30pm – no, 3.30pm – one seat in the corner. Cost 50RM.. It was then I decided to sack that idea.. 50 Ringgit for a corner seat and the film’s not even in digital.. I’ll pass thanks. Overall, it was a bit of a wasted trip to KL, I didn’t really fancy doing anything else, and it was busy, so I headed home.

I think I may wait until Monday or Tuesday and see it at my local cinema – If I can! Hopefully the online ticketing system is back working then – But I won’t hold my breath!

Searching through TV schedules today, I discovered yet another new show coming my way. The new Season (season eight) of Spooks returns to BBC. That in itself isn’t that remarkable, but looking what else is on the box lately, has me tied to the Sofa for a while. Yesterday I blogged about V the reboot of the original 1984 series, add to that shows that have started up again recently, Big Bang Theory and Heroes, and Top Gear returns next week too. By the time some of these shows come to their series conclusion, a new season of 24 will be upon us (Jan).

Meanwhile at the Cinema, 2012 is released next week, the ultimate disaster movie from the creators of Independence Day and The Day after Tomorrow. The following week, Twilight New Moon is released (yes, I’ve read all the books). Wow, this is just amazing. I’m so excited about all these. Now where did I put my Popcorn

I remember being a big fan of the Original 1984 TV show called ‘V’, it depicts ‘visitors’ who apparently come to Earth promising peace and friendship, but were however slowly trying to exterminate us, use us for food and suck all the life out of our planet. I loved the show, I can remember there was “V The Miniseries”, then “V The Final Battle” and then after that, they tried to give us “V The series”. The original miniseries and Final Battle (especially the Final Battle) was fantastic. 80′s TV at it’s finest (if you could call it that). The later V The Series tried to live off the success of the first two shows, but failed horribly – I remember turning off at that point.

Now ABC have commissioned a ‘reboot’ of the series – Similar to what happened with Battlestar Galactic, Knight Rider, and movies such as Hulk, Spiderman, Star Trek, and the forthcoming Nightmare on Elm Street (out Apr 2010). The first episode aired on ABC last night. Today I watched it… and one word comes to mind… AWESOME!

When I first heard about it I got really excited and couldn’t wait. Several months passed and I almost forgot all about it, until the other day. Furthermore, I didn’t watch any trailers for it until earlier today, and I was glad that I didn’t. It would have made the waiting all that much harder.

If you missed the original show, don’t fear, because this is a reboot, you can basically start from this without knowing the story – and it’s conclusion. I would definitely recommend it. It’s not perfect, the acting is a little shallow, and it can be a little corny in places, but who cares – this is Independence Day meets Battlestar meets Sarah Connor Chronicles (some of the connections may be a little loose, but I hope you get what I mean hehe).

Anyway.. To whet your appetite, here’s the trailer..
